October 2011

I'm already falling behind...
I thought be a stay at home mom I would have time to do all these "extra" things...ya right!

October has been so busy and has completely flown by! The kids and I have been back and forth to visit family in Arkansas several times which I'm sure is the reason. The first week we went home was to just get away for fun, and since Brandon had to work a few nights and that weekend, I though it was the perfect time.

We spent time with lots of family, showed off new baby sis (this was her first trip to stay with Nonna and papa), did some shopping, and relaxed! When we got to Nonnas house, she had a surprise for Aiden. She had painted uncle Blake's old room and put up a big boy bed which of course was decked out in Thomas the train stuff! He was so excited, and it was so cute how he called it "my room". :). I was a lil concerned about how he would do in his first big boy bed (at home, he is still in his crib), but he did great! She had a toddler rail for the bed, but he would insist on us not putting it up. We had no potty accidents and no falling off the bed! I couldn't believe it!

I had originally planned on just staying about 4 or 5 days but then Aiden came down with a high fever that lasted a couple of days. Nothing else seemed wrong, but he just was not feeling well so we stayed a couple of extra days since I would have some help with the babies.

We returned to Arkansas just a week later for my dads 50th birthday. It was a surprise party 1970s theme to remind him of the time when he was young :). I had alot of fun planning it, and he was definitely surprised. A few features: slideshow of all his old pictures, tye-dye cupcakes, smiley face cake, fondue, pet rock craft table, a game table which had games you might have played in the 70s, taught the hustle, 1970 trivia, 1970 attire, disco balls and of course 70s music.

We came back home just in time for a friends Halloween party.
